Giveaway Scams

hi everyone this is Charles hoskinson broadcasting live from warm sunny Colorado and today we are doing a public service announcement because it keeps happening again and again and again there's even a website now and I see him all the time Ada giveaway Ada giveaway they plaster my face they do YouTube videos recut maybe even this video will be recut who knows and idiots keep falling for it let me be exceedingly clear to every single person who is listening we will never give away Ada we will never give away Ada we will never give away Ada ever under any circumstances not one not a million not none if you fall for this you will lose your Ada these are criminals these are scammers these are people who are trying to steal from you use common [ __ ] sense you don't get something for free you don't get something for nothing I can't do anything about it we could sue YouTube as Steve Wozniak is doing and as Ripple is doing and we can be in years of litigation and maybe we win a puric victory but then a thousand more scammers will appear they'll keep doing it as long as you guys keep giving again we will never give away Ada we will never give away Ada it's a scam it's always a scam it's always been a scam I keep getting goddamn emails about this I keep getting people saying I sent you Ada I haven't gotten any why are you not setting it my lawyers are gonna sue you well God damn it use some [ __ ] common sense why do you deserve to get free [ __ ] come on people use your goddamn Brains it's a scam you don't get something for nothing it's a scam it's your greed and avarice that keeps causing this and it keeps coming my way I keep getting emails some cases more than 10 a day of people with transactions they say I sent it to this address they do no due diligence they don't think about it for a moment there's hundreds of these announcements I've made throughout my career here a simple Google search of giveaway will reveal this it makes no sense why would we give away free Ada why it goes against everything we say and do as an organization it's a scam on the surface even if we were doing it for God's sakes so again for the seventh time and let's go all the way up to nine until you [ __ ] get it we will not give away Ada we will not give away Ada we will not give away Ada stop falling for it stop thinking about it there's nothing I can do and we can maybe do a class action against the social media Giants they're profiting from this there's nothing our industry can do outside of work together and every day tell everybody give away scams are always scams they are perpetuated by people usually in developing countries fully automated they're outside of the scope of law enforcement like what what is what does a police officer in the United States going to do if somebody in Azerbaijan or Kazakhstan or Russia is stealing your Ada nothing they can't do anything if you send your Ada you will lose it never send me an email about these things there's nothing I can do I'm sorry it's gone past sympathy for me okay it's one thing if it's never happened before in the space it's another thing if it's a constant thing every single cryptocurrency binance coin if you give your money to someone else they won't give it back you will not profit you will lose everything so this is the last time I'm ever going to make a statement about this this is the last time I'm ever going to make a dedicated video about this now we will try to issue statements blog posts yes we're probably going to hire somebody who specializes in scams and try to work across industry yes we are in dialogue with the social media Giants they don't listen okay they ignore us I don't even get a blue check mark on Twitter guys even though it hurts people okay they don't listen to us you can sue them they don't listen to us they're more than comfortable coordinated D platforming people that's fine for them to do they have the algorithms to do that but when it comes to fraud they're more than comfortable making profit from it they host these videos and by the way when you see these live streams with 50 000 audience members they're not 50 000 audience members they're Bots it's probably five people actually watching real people the live stream the other fifty thousand are Bots and what they do is they take a video of mine and they cut the video and put a frame around it and say hey there's a giveaway and I'm just talking it's a crime but I can't do anything about it I can't report it anywhere I go to the FBI what are they going to do go to go to somewhere in the middle of nowhere and find these people and even if you find those people those people work for organized crime in those areas and you can arrest the front people but the people behind them get away with it and they just spot a new set of people the only reason they do this is because some people are actually falling for it and no one in this space vitalik me Dad gives away free crypto it doesn't happen it's not real don't fall for it use some common [ __ ] sense for God's sakes it just blows my mind how people can sit and think wow these people are so generous I can just double my money by doing nothing but just sending to an address what commercial value does that give us or anyone for that matter none so you connect the dots for five moments and and you realize my God this is a problem and that people email me and say we should change the entire deadalist interface to put disclaimers saying are you sure that's a legitimate transaction remember giveaway scam it's like do we have to change our wallet for this I should now have to run banners on my on my live stream saying I don't give away Ada for this really this is the level we have to go to because people lack so they have so little common sense you will never get something for Nothing in life learn that grow up protect yourself think for yourself we will never give away Ada stop emailing me about it stop falling for it guys you don't get something for nothing the cryptocurrencies don't work unless you actually can be your own bank cryptocurrencies don't work unless you take personal accountability for your Holdings and if you're incapable of doing that give them to a trusted third party an actual custodian and have them take care of that for you because you can't handle it otherwise you don't get
