Brief Update on Alonzo

hi this is charles hoskinson broadcasting live from warm sunny colorado always warm always sunny sometimes colorado very briefly i want to do an update about alanzo where we're at so earlier today we had the go no go meeting where we looked at all of the infrastructure and if we're ready to clip the main net candidate and begin the process of a gradual upgrade so we had the meeting and it is a go so the process is as follow we're going to go ahead and fork the initiate an hfc event we've already done so on the test net test net will be in alonso stage this is not one of those specialty test nets like purple and all these other things this is the primary test net that we use for exchanges and all the other people and normal things and that's going to go ahead and go through that process i believe that test net is going to roll over september 1st now we got a little bit of cleanup we got to do on the weekend to make sure everything's in line with the latest version of db sync i think we have may have corrected that rewards bug and dbsync as well i have to get some verification on that but all infrastructure looks green and go or will be green and go by the end of the weekend and then when that rolls over on the alonzo testnet then basically it's gonna sit there until the update proposal is done and i think they're gonna clip that on september 9th and it's going to roll over september 12th on sunday so how long the short is we are on schedule things are looking good there's a few bugs here and there that are minor a few little quality things here and there that are minor and we'll clean those things up some can be cleaned up before the launch some are going to be done and the following node launches we have about a two week cadence on the node and when you do a main net candidate you have to stop all development there's just bug fixing there no new features and that's where we were at a few weeks ago so it's going to be probably a rather uneventful rollover now knock on wood it looks like that we're pretty happy about it i and everything is on schedule for the 12th big milestone today the go no go decision had we said no go it would have pushed us back by five days and the 12th would have turned to the 17th but everything looks good it's a go which means that we're just counting down to the 12th and we're already discussing some lovely software to write and deploy for the day of the launch just to show you guys some cool things we've had some cool discussion i think you'd be pretty excited and i got one of these so somebody gave me this this is the hapapus happy octopus and if we have a bad day on the 12th you flip it around and it becomes the satypus see so right now we are happy octopus half of us we're having fun with them so i think things are looking good and i just wanted to make this brief video let you guys know that we did the go no go decision today with all the stakeholders big meeting 25 people in it we went through a huge checklist of things and they just kept coming up green so i'm very proud of the team very proud of the community thank you to the countless hundreds of people who helped us pay to test this and push really hard and it's going to be a very fun launch party on the 12th i hope you guys schedule that yourselves and watch along live stream your experiences have some fun with it for all of those who are plutus pioneers this is your chance to deploy some things so work hard see if you have some stuff ready to go for launch the day of why not and of course the summit is going to be on the 25th 26th i will be there in wyoming if you guys want to see me however we have hubs all around the world and you won't be left out plus there's a big online event i think we're at 25 30 000 people who've registered so it's really remarkable to see how fast that's grown we still have plenty of time to advertise so we're gonna have a real fun event and at the end of september and i get a little bit of a break and then it's off to africa going all around the world see you guys soon cheers
