Hi, this is Charles Hoskinson broadcasting live from warm, sunny Colorado. Always warm, always sunny, sometimes Colorado. Today is January 30th, 2025. You Degen bastards, I never thought in my life you all would make a video for me to make a video like this, but you did. Alright, so I did a demo of Lace, and while doing that demo, I created a wallet.
I backed that wallet up with my PGP key, and the end result is I showed you guys my paper wallet. So let me go ahead and share the screen so you can see it. Here we go. And here is my paper wallet. There you go.
Now, the point of doing this was to say, "Wow, Cardano is so secure. The paper wallet generator is so secure that I can broadcast live to the internet my backup wallet, and I have no fear at all." You guys can try to break it, whatever. I also did it to showcase the wallet's capabilities. I was walking through the new DApp Explorer.
Now, I forgot this is crypto, and this is crypto in 2025. The threat vector isn't people stealing things from your wallet; the threat vector is people putting things in your wallet, which I've mentioned numerous times is not a good thing. So, somebody from the community decided to create a Charles token—not the one that was issued with Book IIO or Nike or any of these other things that I have some degree of affiliation with. It was just created, and you Dgens decided to trade it. Boy, did you trade it!
Take a look at this: fully diluted market value, $71 million; trading volume, $5.14 million—literally in a day, a million percent up. Everybody's playing with it. So, I'm sitting in my little wallet right here, and you guys sent me a bunch of stuff. Let's open her up.
I'm sitting on 900 billion of that. You've lost your damn mind! Okay, so obviously it's not worth that. There's no liquidity or anything like that, but it's a pretty amazing thing. Anyway, I don't play in these circles, so what I did is I wrote a quick script.
I sent it over to the AEN guys and said, "I'm not really an AEN programmer, so please check this." Lucas checked it, cleaned it up a little bit, created a repo, and here is the repo. It's a public burner script. I got a burner address, we've tested it, and he sent a HOSY. I set some of that agent SNCK that you guys sent me.
what we're going to do? We're going to destroy all of this token live. I think it's the first time in my life I've ever burnt $60 million of book value, but let's do it. So, right here is the address to that. Let me just go ahead and verify that.
No, hang on, let me—I don’t believe that’s the right address. Just a second. Actually, yes, that is it. It's the script address of the smart contract. Good.
So let me go ahead and do that. What this will do is destroy all of it. Alright, so we’re going to go ahead and open up Lace, and we’re going to go ahead and send. We’re going to put that address in there, and what we are going to do is go down to the official Charles meme. The balance is 900 billion.
There we go, and we are going to send all of that there. Transaction note: "Thanks for all the fish." Let me just double-check that address because it's a lot of money. Yes, that’s correct. That’s what we’re looking for.
Okay, you guys ready for this? I'll tell you the value of that. Here we go. This little thing today. Alright, so now it’s $94 million.
Let me just double-check here how much that is at the exact market price. Oh, it’s $84 million. You ready? Alright, got to enter my password real quick. [Music] Confirm, and let me share my screen again.
There we go. Okay, all done. Transaction is complete. View transaction. It is sending.
It’ll take a little while to process because it’s a script, and here it is. So this is the address details. You guys can see it, and that’s the entire supply. We’ll just stay on until this thing posts. So that was the HOSY token, and actually, I think this is like putting a black hole there.
So if you have anything touching the HOSY token, it destroys all the value. That was the agent SNCK that went ahead and burned, and there is that address right there. So we just burned $80 million. It cost me 1.42 ADA for the privilege of burning that, and we’ll just give that a moment to work its way through.
Oh my, look at you guys and your Degen activity. You never cease to amaze me. Alright, sending to that address. Data: "Thanks for all the fish." It should be there in just a moment.
And there we go, the official meme. Alright, and we should see it over here. Thank you, C Explorer. Refreshing the page. There we go.
See here, Charles' official meme. Alright, okay, and it’s burnt. So I am no longer a founder of this coin, I suppose. Congratulations! Anyway, don’t do that again, you bastards.
Although it was fun to actually see AEN, the comparable Plutus V3 contract is quite large. Anyway, that’s an unspent contract. There’s no way to pull funds out of it. You guys can see the GitHub repo. I’ll put the link here if you want to learn how to do your own burner accounts.
They’re pretty awesome. First time I’ve ever burnt $80 million shows you that I’m basically incorruptible. You can’t, a lesser man would have found a way to slow-drip that out, got a few million dollars here and there. I don’t do that. Homie don’t play that way; we just throw it away.
So there you go. You can’t get me, no matter how much you try. That was a lot, though, so we’ll go get a cup of coffee and calm down a little bit. Thank you, everybody. Cheers!
