hi this is Josh Canton broadcasting live from warm sunny Colorado always sunny always warm always Colorado it is currently June 3rd and I want to make a quick video talk about the ITN so as many of you aware as we launched Shelly the ITN is no longer a necessary component to populate shelling but it's a great piece of code and if it was a standalone cryptocurrency probably be at a billion dollar market cap right now it's a marvel of technology and I hate throwing these things away so we're going to do a few things with the rust codebase first off many of you are aware of a project we had years ago called score ax that we inherited from Alex terpenoid Alex great kid he's launched a project called Argo which I'm a huge fan of and helped reinforce my appreciation admiration and love for the Scala programming language actually one of the reasons why we chose to write nandus in scala for example so it would be really cool to see if we could use Jormungandr to basically replace what we intended on doing with score x score X is a framework for rep blockchain deployment prototyping and it's been used to actually launch to cryptocurrencies to my knowledge waves and Argo so we're gonna have some internal discussions with the itn team as we close down the ITN about the potential of making Jormungandr a little bit more generic and upstream so like score X it could be used to build blockchain projects conduct experiments and for basically community contribution to do interesting things so that's going to come down the horizon and we'll make an announcement at a later date exactly how we'll do that well how will govern that but we already have a great open source community around your McAndrew so I don't want to get rid of that code I'd like to keep it do cool stuff with it the second we already have one project we've spun off of that code base which we will announce at the virtual summit I think you guys will be very intrigued by it so that's coming down the pipe as well but then it would also be super cool to see if what we've already accomplished could be repurposed for something commercially that's beneficial to everybody in the Cardinal ecosystem so if you are a stateful operator person who has ADA in the ITN please do hold on to that for a bit we might be able to do something interesting with it it would be shame to let that go especially since it's become quite by accident one of the most decentralized cryptocurrency is around and really curious interesting coin in its own respect so that's basically at about the ITN end of life is happening towards the end of this month and that includes rewards and so forth and the utility of the ITN for the purposes of watching Shelley will have been exhausted meaning that everything is of course may not jelly so we don't we don't really need the ITN anymore for that that's it we've kept the rest team have a single one of them go we'll probably scale it up and it is a first-class citizen project we're going to replace our contributions to score X so we'll scale that down and replace it hopefully was your man gander to realize the same intent that score X had and we do already have some downstream activities with that code base and it'd be super cool to see if we can find a way to keep the existing ITN alive and find a way to create some value for the holders of Ada and give them something new to do so well it will let we're talking internally about it and we'll see what we can achieve there but overall it's been a profoundly good experiment and tremendously successful overwhelmingly so I honestly expected participation rates about 20% to 30% with the ITN and we got it well over 40% and there's a double there's like 20,000 nodes or something like that validating nodes and a lot of consensus nodes as well and for a test net that's extraordinary they see that kind of reliability so so it would be a shame just to say hey move on let it all die we'll see what we can do there and stateful operators thank you so much for making the ITN an overwhelming success and it's been really a joy this month and last month's watching you guys my great gals migrated over from the ITN to the Pioneer test I believe we are still on schedule for June 9th for the open pioneer network we have update this week coming out generally we cut releases for the note on a two-week cadence the last time we did that was May June 4th is the next time we're cutting it and that will contain all the batteries included for the open pioneer test net and everything else is looking pretty good so the dates we gave at the product update are still at the moment reliable and we have no reason to believe that they're not so hopefully June 30th if the weather is good July 7th as the alternate date but that's still on schedule as well as for the ITN it's bittersweet to see it no longer be needed but on the other hand it's a great moment accomplishment for all of us so thanks for your time just a quick update and we'll keep you guys in the loop Cheers
