hi everyone this is charles hoskinson broadcasting live from warm sunny colorado always warm always sunny sometimes colorado so today is december 21st 2021 and i wanted to make a quick video to share some things that come my way so from time to time people send things to my office and next year we're going to try to set up a dedicated place for people to send things because we often get asked the question what address should we send things to if we want to send you something so we'll make a release at some point and show you guys how to do that but when people send me letters or i get various things i make videos to kind of read off the letters and thank them and this one was a particularly nice one so he says hello charles i wanted to send you this work that i procured to celebrate all the accomplishments of the cardano community i emphasize community because it is the strength of the community that is the foundation that supports success it was researching cardano that first got me involved into the crypto sphere it was getting involved in nfts that made me feel a part of this community to frankly tell you about myself i'm a disabled veteran and that is to say i am flawed well first you're a little inaccurate there you're not flawed come on now immersing myself on the nfts allows me to improve and rebuild my flawed self it also leads me to feel a part of something greater than myself something that's not about destructing as that in itself is easy to do but constructing and doing it for a greater good i hope you enjoy my work as much as i enjoyed constructing it charles here's to wishing you all the best you're an inspiration ongoing brother stay blessed from blockchain bodhi let me show you what he gave us unfortunately i don't know where i put these things but that was a really nice letter another thing kind of blindsided me a bit so as many of we hire a lot of veterans at i o and we just have some standard policies for example if someone gets deployed we try to keep them on a stipend and give them benefits while they're deployed for them and their family and we're very military friendly employer well one of my employees who was deployed actually nominated us for an award and we got this lovely thing from the department of defense and i imagine a lot of employers get them but the office of secretary of defense employer support of the guard and they recognize us as a patriotic employer but i never expected to get that you're always a little suspicious when you get a letter from the department of defense you're like okay what do these guys want maybe it's about the blackhawk or something who knows but that was also very nice too we try to have a good work environment and hiring veterans is one of the best things you can do they are very disciplined people and they come from all wakes of life and they've had a lot of challenges usually and overcome a lot of challenges and if you're good to them they're good to you and real loyal so if you're an employer always make sure to remember that and also remember that there's still many times connected to that institution and military comes first over you until those connections end and that's part of the deal so you get the loyalty and the work ethic but you have to be patient about deployments and you have to be patient about work life balance and some of the other things during that transition so we are and i'm very glad the dod gave us something so that's fun not sure where i'll put that too anyway just a quick video and we'll set up a po box or some place that people can send us mail and that i'll try to regularly read it out at amas or something like that once a month or every two months or something like that because i tend to do it sporadically but i get a lot of really cool and interesting letters and cool and interesting things so thank you all for listening thank you all for the love and support and i hope you guys have a great christmas week cheers
